Hiroshima Lantern Ceremony

The Hiroshima Lantern Ceremony takes place at the banks of the Motoyasu River where visitors can admire around 10,000 beautiful paper lanterns floating on the water. This ceremony is a symbol of peace and commemoration to those who lost their lives in the bombing during World War II. You can participate by writing your own message, lighting the lantern into the riverside and setting it afloat.
