DETAILED ITINERARY
We start off in Osaka. After picking you up in one of our luxurious private vehicles, we will drive you through the three destinations of your choice.
Option 01: Osaka Castle
The construction of Osaka Castle started in 1583 on the former site of the Ishiyama Honganji Temple, which had been destroyed by Oda Nobunaga thirteen years earlier. Toyotomi Hideyoshi intended the castle to become the center of a new, unified Japan under Toyotomi rule. It was the largest castle at the time.
Entrance fee (separate from tour price, to be purchased on the spot)
Adults: JPY600 per person
Option 02: Midosuji Gingko
One of the most popular and important streets in Osaka, Mido-Suji runs from north of the Kita Area to as far as Namba in the Minami Area. Often referred to as the “Champs Elysee of the Orient”, the avenue is lined with a fabulous border of gingko trees, which cast lovely shade in the summer. When the leaves turn yellow in autumn the atmosphere of the avenue is even more romantic as people walking along a carpet of golden leaves. It’s a fabulous way to enjoy nature in an urban setting.
Option 03: Fumin no Mori Hoshida Park
Fumin no Mori Hoshida Park is a national park located in east Osaka near Nara prefecture. It takes about 1 hour from Osaka station (Central area of Osaka). If you are planning to visit Osaka and seeking for a good place to enjoy the autumn foliage in nature, this place must be for you. Don’t miss the suspension bridge across the forest called “Hoshi no Buranko” which means “Star Swing”. The bridge is 280 m long and 50 m tall. Enjoy the thrilling panoramic view of the autumn leaves by crossing it!
Option 04: Osaka Memorial Park
Osaka Memorial Park is the only place in Osaka where you can find so many varieties of flowers in one place. This park is as famous as the Osaka Expo Park and boasts of having the biggest greenhouse facility in Japan. The reason for the diversity of flowers and plants here is that this was the original site for the International Flower Expo, held more than 20 years ago.
Option 05: Daitokuji
Daitokuji is a large walled temple complex in northern Kyoto and the head temple of the Rinzai sect’s Daitokuji school of Japanese Zen Buddhism. The complex consists of nearly two dozen subtemples and is one of the best places in Japan to see a wide variety of Zen gardens and to experience Zen culture and architecture.
Entrance fee (separate from tour price, to be purchased on the spot)
Adults: JPY400 per person
Option 06: Katsuoji
Katsuo-ji Temple was presented its current name from the emperor in 880, because praying at the temple helped the emperor recover from his sickness. Originally, it was given the name “Katsuo-ji” (meaning “win against the king”) but they thought that the meaning was too bold, so they changed the Chinese character from “king” (王) to “tail” (尾), both are pronounced almost same in Japanese. Katsuo-ji Temple is known to give good luck for business, examinations, sports, accomplishments, love, elections, and so on.
Entrance fee (separate from tour price, to be purchased on the spot)
Adults: JPY400 per person
Option 07: Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori
Osaka’s most famous shopping area for international visitors is Dotonbori, with an overwhelming number of giant billboards crammed into small spaces, while the neighboring area of Shinsaibashi is bustling with rows of restaurants and clothing stores. These areas are the best choice when it comes to enjoying delicious food and shopping, and come into contact with the kind people of Osaka!
The tour will end with us dropping you off at a location of your choice in Osaka.
