DETAILED ITINERARY

We start off in Noto. After picking you up in one of our luxurious private vehicles, we will drive you through some spectacular view to the three destinations of your choice.

Option 01: Shiroyone Senmaida

Shiroyone Senmaida Explore Wajima Private Package Tour

Shiroyone Senmaida is the rice terraces located in Shiroyone town, Wajima City. The scenery of 1,004 small rice paddies on steep slopes along the seaside is splendid, and thus famous among the many other rice terraces in Japan. Shiroyone Senmaida was selected as one of “Japan’s Top 100 Terraced Rice Paddies” and nationally designated a “Special Place of Scenic Beauty”. In June 2011, it was also registered to Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems.

Option 02: Wajima Salt Farm

Okunosato Salt Farm Private Package Tour

For anyone who doesn’t know how salt is made (and that is probably most people), the salt farms of the Noto Peninsula are here to enlighten you. Using saltwater, sun and time, the hard workers create high-grade salt using relatively small patches of land. The Okunoto Salt Farm Village in Suzu offers a few different farms to visit.

Option 03: Rokkozaki Lighthouse

Rokkozaki Lighthouse Explore Wajima Private Package Tour

Rokkozaki Lighthouse is a beautiful lighthouse located at the very tip of the Noto Peninsula. The lighthouse is located on a tall cliff, lifting the lamp to a height of 48 meters. The high location provides an incomparable view over the sea of Japan. Actually, it is said that from the tip of this cape, one can both see the sun rising out of the ocean and the sun setting in the ocean!

Option 04: Kami Tokikuni and Shimo Tokikuni

The Tokikuni family are descendants of the powerful Taira clan, and two of their former residences have been preserved and opened to the public: the Upper Tokikuni Residence and the Lower Tokikuni Residence. The residences are located only a short walk apart from each other near the tip of the Noto Peninsula in the Okunoto region.

Kami Tokikuni Residence Private Package Tour

The Kami Tokikuni is the bigger and more impressive of the two buildings, and one part of it still serves as a private residence. The thatched roof building is about 18 meters tall, and was built in the early 1800s when the head of the family decided to abandon the original residence. A few fixtures of the original residence have been incorporated into the present building. There are a number of rooms to explore, such as guest rooms, guard rooms and gardens, and various artifacts are on display.

Shimo Tokikuni Residence Private Package Tour

Considered the oldest surviving residence on the Noto Peninsula, the Shimo Tokikuni predates the Kami Tokikuni. In the 1500s one of the sons of the head of the family formed his own branch of the Tokikuni, called the Shimo Tokikuni (lower Tokikuni) and built his residence, the Shimo Tokikuni, near the main family’s residence, which thereafter became known as the Kami Tokikuni.
