DETAILED ITINERARY
Option 01: Lake Inawashiro
Lake Inawashiro taking its name from the Inawashiro area. It is known as the fourth largest lake in Japan and also famous for its sightseeing boats.
The lake attracts visitors from around the world all year round with its seasonal sceneries. A spring walk along the lake offers a magnificent view of cherry blossoms. Summer is famous for camping, swimming and a wide range of water sports. The surrounding autumnal leaves reflect picturesquely on the water and the most popular winter attraction is known as “Shibuki Gori”, a unique phenomenon caused by the lake water being splashed by strong winds and immediately freezing on the surrounding trees.
Option 02: Nisshinkan
Nisshinkan used to be the highest educational institution that the Aizu Clan had. The present Nisshinkan has been restored to its original state. Now, visitors can enjoy the architecture and some hands-on activities such as Japanese archery, zen practice, painting local crafts, and so on.
Option 03: Tsuruga Castle
Tsuruga Castle, also known as Aizu Castle or Aizuwakamatsu Castle, is famed as an impregnable fortress that withstood a month-long siege by the newly formed government during the Boshin war in 1868. Tsuruga Castle Park is famous for its thousand cherry blossom trees illuminated at night. The surrounding trees are also illuminated in autumn to show off the vividly changing colours of their leaves.
Option 04: Oyakuen
Oyakuen’s name was derived from the fact that various medicinal plants have been cultivated here. An Edo Era strolling garden, you can enjoy a secret medicinal herbal tea and English afternoon tea within the garden.
Option 05: Nanokamachidori
The main shopping street in Fukushima with a lot of historical buildings. This would be a nice place if you want to find handicrafts and souvenirs
The tour will end with us dropping you off at a location of your choice in Fukushima.
