DETAILED ITINERARY

Spend a day away from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo city at some of the most interesting museums in Hakone. Surrounded by an abundance of nature Hakone is a great destination for relaxation and rejuvenation with many ryokans and hot springs. Hakone also offers a selection of very interesting open air museums, which exhibits a wide variety of European and East Asian artists from several different periods.

We start our journey Japan’s busy capital, Tokyo, located just two hours away from Hakone. After picking you up in one of our luxurious private vehicles, we will drive you through some truly spectacular countryside views to the three destinations of your choice.

Option 01: The Little Prince Museum (Recommended)

Museum of The Little Prince Hakone Private Package Tour

Inspired by the famous book by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, the Little Prince Museum is a physical embodiment of the book’s magical spirit. The museum explores Saint-Exupery’s life, it also features a French townscapes and European garden within a lush natural beauty of Hakone.

Option 02: Pola Museum of Art (Recommended)

Pola Museum of Art Hakone Private Package Tour

In 2002 the Pola Museum of Art museum, throughout the years the museum has displayed an array of famous works from universally known artist such as: Monet, Renoir and Picasso. Pola Museum also exhibits a varied collection featuring Western-styl painting by Japanese artist, Japanese painting, woodblock prints, Oriental clay work, glass work and much more. Many pieces in these collections were selected by Tsuneshi Suzuki the second-generation head of Japanese cosmetic manufacturer: Pola Orbis Group.

In addition to the large collection of beautiful art works made by famous artist, the museum is surrounded by green luscious nature, restaurants and cafes creating a very charming atmosphere.

Hakone Open Air Museum Private Package Tour

The Hakone Open Air Museum is first of its kind in Japan. Opened in 1960s, this museum exhibits collections of artworks made by Picasso, Henry Moore, Taro Okamoto and many others. The museum houses over 1,000 sculptures made by many  world renowned artist such as Constantin Brâncuși, Barbara Hepworth and Kotaro Takmura. Take a leisure stroll through the museum’s surrounding nature while appreciating amazing art.

Option 04: Hakone Glass no Mori

Hakone Venetican Glass Museum Private Package Tour

Stroll through an Italian style neighbourhood at the Hakone Glass no Mori. This glass museum is surrounded my canals, ponds and garden with a number large glass sculptures laid about. After strolling through the glass garden, take a break at one of the many charming cafes the area has to offer.The Museum is also home to a collection of over 100 pieces of Venetian glassware of modern and classic works of all forms.

Option 05: Narukawa Art Museum

Narukawa Art Museum Hakone Private Package Tour

The Narukawa Art Museum sits along the shores of Lake Ahi in Hakone. This private museum opened it doors to the public in 1988, allowing people to witness many masterpieces of nihonga, Japanese-style paintings, collected over a course of 20 years by the owner, Minoru Narukawa. The collection includes 200 pieces by kyujin Yamamoto, the recipient of the Order of Cultural Merit.

Option 05: Okada Museum of Art

Okada Museum of Art Private Package Tour

This privately-owned museum showcases a wide collection of art works dating back to the antiquity period all the way to the modern era. Okada Museum of art opened in 2013 and features East Asian ceramics, sculptures and paintings. The museum is set in a very spacious, modern Japanese- styled facility, surrounded by Japanese traditional gardens, a tea house and a cafe which features a hot spring foot bath.
