Option 01: Blue Pond (Recommended)
The Blue Pond outside the hot spring town of Shirogane Onsen is named after is deep blue color which it owes to natural minerals dissolved in the water. Not promoted as a tourist spot until recent years, the pond is part of an erosion control system that was built to prevent damage to Biei in case of an eruption by nearby Mount Tokachidake. Shirogane Blue Pond was made by accident,as the by-product of attempts to control mudslides.Aluminium that has seeped into the water scatters the sunlight, causing the pond to look blue.
Option 02: Shikisai No Oka
The panoramic flower gardens of Shikisai-no-oka provide spectacular views across fifteen hectares of land on Oka-no-machi Biei. It is a paradise of seasonal blossoms from spring through to fall, in which several dozen different species of flowers and grasses flourish. Several dozen kinds of flowers bloom in the wide fields, and the large vicinity of Biei Town becomes like a carpet of blossoms.

Donation boxes are located at the entrance to the panoramic flower gardens of Shikisai-no-oka.
Option 03: Farm Tomita/ Lavender East (Recommended)
The best spot to view the lavender is Farm Tomita, whose lavender and flower fields with the Tokachi mountain range as backdrop are spectacular. The popular farm is free to enter and besides the flower fields has cafes and shops that sell a wide range of lavender related products. The farm naturally gets rather busy during the peak season.
In 2008, Farm Tomita opened a second farm, Lavender East to the public. Located about four kilometers east of Farm Tomita, Lavender East has by far the most spacious of all lavender fields in Furano, covering 14 hectares. Besides a shop, cafe and observation deck, the farm offers paid 15 minute rides on the “Lavender Bus” through the lavender fields.
Option 04: Choei Lavender Park
There are plenty of beautiful flower viewing areas in the Nakafurano area, and the Choei Lavender Farm and the Flower Park are no exception. The Choei Lavender Farm is a hill covered in a kaleidoscope of color, as the summer flowers start to bloom, including four kinds of lavender, sunflower, marigold and salvia. The hill also serves as a playground for skiers and snowboarders during the cold winters. There is a single-chair lift ride to the top of the hill offering sweeping views of the carpet of flowers and also down over the Furano valley and the Tokachi mountain range. This hillside is also the venue of the Nakafurano Lavender Festival, the town’s biggest event in mid July. There is parking at the bottom of the fields of flowers plus small stalls selling souvenirs and delicious ice-cream for those warm sunny days.
Ski Lift fee (separate from Tour price, to be purchased on the spot)>

The forest gives off a beautiful scent with pine trees and the waterfall creating a wonderful atmosphere for wandering around or stopping in the cafe. The cafe serves a range of products including hot and cold drinks, baked milk, cakes and cheese platter and some delicious ice creams.
