Option 01: Salt Factory Nuchi Masu (Recommended)

Option 02: Shurijo Castle (Recommended)

Option 03: Kokusai Dori (Recommended)

Option 04: Mihama American Village

Option 05: Okinawa Prefectural Museum

Okinawa is Japan’s southernmost prefecture, consisting of a few dozen, small islands in the southern half of the Nansei Shoto, the island chain which stretches over about one thousand kilometers from Kyushu to Taiwan. Being the portal between Japan and the tropics, Okinawa has so much to offer including the beautiful sea, natural forests, the world heritage sites with a long history, the own unique food culture, various shopping spots and more.

We start off in the capital and largest city of Okinawa Prefecture, Naha. After picking you up in one of our luxurious private vehicles, we will drive you through some truly memorable views to the three destinations of your choice in Okinawa.

Option 01: Salt Factory Nuchi Masu (Recommended)

Okinawa Essentials Salt Factory Nuchi Masu

“Nuchi Masu” —means “the salt of life” in Okinawan dialect—  is recognized for its high mineral salt content. You can take a look at the process of making Nuchi Masu salt in this factory. The factory has been making salt for over 20 years and is loved by the Okinawan people. Close to the Nuchi masu factory, there is a beautiful cape where you can overlook the emerald green ocean. The place is at the most beautiful location that is surrounded by marvelous nature.

Option 02: Shuri Castle (Recommended)

Okinawa Essentials Shuri Castle

Shuri Castle, the majestic center of politics, diplomacy, and culture of the Ryukyu Kingdom. In the Battle of Okinawa in 1945, Shuri Castle was left in ruins but in 1992, commemorating the 20th year since Okinawa’s reversion to Japan, Shuri Castle was restored and opened as a national park. Noted for its cultural and historical significance in the distinctive archeological style that combined the structural cultures of both China and Japan, as well as the high skills in the stonework, Shuri Castle was registered as Japan’s 11th World Heritage Site in December of 2000. The stately appearance of Shuri Castle with its brilliant vermilion color speaks of the great history and culture of the proud kingdom, and symbolizes Okinawa.

Entrance fee (separate from Tour price, to be purchased on the spot)

Adults: JPY820 per person / High School Students: JPY620 per person / Elementary & Junior High Students: JPY310 per person

Option 03: Kokusai Dori (Recommended)

Okinawa Essentials Kokusai Dori

Kokusaidori – literally “International Road” – is Naha’s main street, stretching for roughly two kilometers through downtown Naha. Whether you’re on the hunt for souvenirs or small eateries, this vibrant, fusion-tastic shopping strip is your one-stop shop for everything and anything Okinawan.

Option 04: Mihama American Village

Okinawa Essentials Mihama American Village

Mihama American Village is a large entertainment complex that resembles a big American outdoor shopping mall with lots of shops, restaurants and cafes. Many American military bases are located in the area, and the entertainment complex’s theme of Americana provides a nostalgic pleasure for residents of the bases as well as an interesting diversion for the locals. The Mihama American Village is the perfect place to visit if you’re craving American styled shops, restaurants, cafes and entertainment that blends well with the Okinawa island culture.

Option 05: Okinawa Prefectural Museum

Okinawa Essentials Okinawa Prefectural Museum

The Okinawa Prefectural Museum and Art Museum is the first prefecture-run art museum of the entire pre-and postwar era. This art museum has been constructed to encourage artistic endeavor, which goes to the very heart of our humanity, and by so doing, to enrich the aesthetic sentiments of the people of this prefecture, thus supporting wholesome social growth and development. The museum and art museum also intend to serve as a hub of artistic and cultural activity for this region.
