DETAILED ITINERARY

We start off in Tokyo. After picking you up in one of our luxurious private vehicles, we will drive you to some spectacular views through the three destinations of your choice.

Destination 01: Shizuoka Sengen Shrine

Shizuoka Sengen Shrine Shizuoka Highlights Private Package Tour

Designated as an Important Cultural Asset of the nation, Shizuoka Sengen Shrine is the collective name for a group of three shrines: Kanbe, Asama, and Otoshimioya. Standing in the vast precincts are magnificent shrine buildings such as the bright vermilion Romon Gate, the Ohaiden Hall, and the main shrines of Kanbe and Asama Shrines. “Chigomai”, which is said to have moved Lord Ieyasu, is dedicated during Hatsukaesai, the annual festival in April. The Shizuoka City Cultural Assets Museum, where precious documents connected with the Imagawa and Tokugawa families are preserved and exhibited, is located within the precincts.

Opening Hours: 7:00 am to 6:00 pm

*Special visits to the main shrine are available on Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm (may not be available when festivals etc. are held).

Destination 02: Sumpu Castle Ruins and Momijiyama Japanese Garden

Sumpu Castle Ruins Shizuoka Highlights Private Package Tour

Sumpu Castle was built by Tokugawa Ieyasu in 1586 and later served as his retirement home. Shizuoka City, at that time called Sumpu, developed around the castle, which remains at the center of the city. None of the original castle buildings remain, and the grounds now mostly consist of park space.

Sunpu Caste Park Momijiyama Garden Private Package Tour

Sunpu Caste Park Momijiyama Garden Private Package Tour

In 2001, the attractive Momijiyama Japanese Garden was opened in the park’s northeastern corner. In the style of a traditional landscape garden, it features a pond at its center, a man made hill and a network of walking trails. The hill represents Mount Fuji and is surrounded by azaleas that represent tea leaves, Shizuoka’s most famous local product, while a pebbled part of the pond’s shores represents nearby Miho Beach. Local tea is served in a teahouse in the corner of the garden.

Entrance fee (separate from tour price, to be purchased on the spot)
Adult: JPY360 per person

The tour then moves onto Yokohama area. Guests can choose one destination from the following options:

Option 01: Yokohama China Town

Yokohama China Town Shizuoka Highlights Private Package Tour

Yokohama Chinatown is Japan’s largest Chinatown, located in central Yokohama. A large number of Chinese stores and restaurants can be found in the narrow and colorful streets of Chinatown. Various events and festivals such as Chinese New Year around the beginning of February are also held at Chinatown.

Option 02: Minato Mirai

Minato Mirai Shizuoka Essentials Private Package Tour

Minato Mirai 21 is a seaside urban area in central Yokohama whose name means “harbor of the future”. It has many large high-rises, including the Landmark Tower, which was Japan’s tallest building from 1993 until 2014. The area was a large shipyard until the 1980s, when development began to turn it into a new city center.
