After picking you up in one of our luxurious private vehicles, we will drive you to explore the biggest wholesale fish and seafood market in the world, Toyosu Fish Market. Since the opening of Toyosu, the majority of the wholesale market of Tsukiji, as well as all tuna auctions, are now held there as well. A knowledgeable professional english-speaking guide will help you learn about the history of the fish market and its offerings.
TOYOSU FISH MARKET
The celebrated Tsukiji market closed its doors on October 6th, 2018. The storied wholesale market was one of the biggest fish markets in the world. Replacing it, the Toyosu market offers more visitor friendly options and is located only 3 miles away from the original Tsukiji market.
Despite the relocation, the auction ritual remained intact: before dawn, buyers in rubber boots were inspecting the quality of the giant fresh and frozen tunas by examining the neatly cut tail end with flashlights and rubbing slices between their fingers. The tuna auctions take place between around 5:30 and 6:30 in the mornings.
After watching the Tuna Auction, you will complete your morning with sushi for breakfast at a highly-recommended restaurant.
The tour will end with us dropping you off at a location of your choice in Tokyo.
