DETAILED ITINERARY

We start off in Nagoya. After picking you up from our meeting point, we will guide you through the three destinations of your choice.

 

Option 01: Nagoya Castle

Nagoya Castle was built in the beginning of the Edo Period as the seat of one of the three branches of the ruling Tokugawa family, the Owari branch. As such, it was one of the largest castles in the country, and the castle town around it ultimately grew to become Japan’s fourth largest city.

Option 02: Sakae

Nagoya’s downtown district, Sakae, is located about two kilometers east of Nagoya Station. It offers multiple department stores and malls catering to all kind of shoppers, as well as a plethora of dining options.

 

Option 03: Osu Kannon Temple

Osu Kannon Temple Walking Tour in Nagoya Private Package Tour

Osu Kannon is a popular Buddhist temple in central Nagoya. Originally built during the Kamakura Period (1192-1333) in neighboring Gifu Prefecture, the temple was moved to its current site by Tokugawa Ieyasu in 1612 after the original temple had been repeatedly damaged by severe flooding. The current buildings are 20th century reconstructions.

 

Option 04: Kasuga Shrine

Kuwana sosha (Kasuga-jinja shrine) is the common name for both Kuwana-jinja shrine and Nakatomi-jinja shrine. Kuwana sosha is known as the local Shinto deity. According to an old document, Kuwana-jinja shrine where worships Kuwana-obi (the founder of Kuwana) was there in 110, and it is called “the god of prosperity” because it supported Kuwana to flourish.

 

Option 05: Osu shopping district

The Osu Shopping District has existed for 400 years as the commercial streets serving a locale with a concentration of Buddhist temples, and from the start it has flourished as a center for traditional entertainment and culture. The area now boasts more than 1,200 businesses, ranging from establishments of very long standing to shops that are brand-new, and is a popular sightseeing destination.
